Hiroshima, a city with a storied past and a spirit of resilience, was a must-visit destination for this trip. While it's indelibly marked by the tragic events of 1945, Hiroshima has since emerged as a symbol of peace and hope. Below are a few spots we visited in this 1-day trip.


1. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

A solemn yet hopeful tribute to those affected by the atomic bombing. The iconic A-Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as a stark reminder of the city's past while symbolizing a commitment to nuclear disarmament.


2. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum

Adjacent to the park is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, which offers a comprehensive look at the events of August 6, 1945, and their aftermath. It's a moving and educational experience that fosters a deep understanding of the city's history.


3. Hiroshima Children's Peace Monument

Pay your respects at the Hiroshima Children's Peace Monument, dedicated to the child victims of the atomic bombing. It's a poignant reminder of the city's commitment to a peaceful future.


4. Hiroshima Okonomiyaki

Savor Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, a savory pancake layered with ingredients like noodles, cabbage, pork, and a sweet, savory sauce. It's a local specialty that's both delicious and unique.
